Introduction to Musical Instruments
Introduction to Musical Instruments is our most popular course for the last few years. This exciting course has been designed especially for children who have expressed an interest in music but are not sure which instrument to choose.
The course is for 6-8 year olds. Children get group tuition in piano, violin and guitar (three weeks of each). The instrumental tuition lasts half an hour and another half hour is spent doing musical theory. Musical theory involves learning how to read notes, rhythms and various musical symbols so children will have a well-rounded introduction to music in a fun way with stickers and colours.
The instruments in the school will be used for the duration so parents don’t have to buy an instrument until the child decides whether to pursue music or not. Following the course, you will receive an evaluation/assessment sheet advising you which instrument was best suited to your child.

As a member each student will learn lifelong skills of teamwork, listening and engagement and most important of all, the art of singing. The Treble Starters hope to promote an everlasting passion and excitement for choral music within the young generation and strive to promote music of all genres to the members. Rehearsals will be both fun, energetic and full of positive learning outcomes providing an enriching environment for the students to learn and perform in.
Students will learn the importance of vocal health, warming up before singing, stance, movements, vocal techniques, rhythm, intervals, beat-boxing, body percussion, vocal exercises and of course an abundance of many types of music.
Through the incorporation of carefully selected music games and activities into each rehearsal, The Treble Starters hope to associate music with joy and excitement for singers of all levels providing an active and engaging rehearsal each time and keeping a high standard of vocal performance that can give each students a sense of pride and participation.

Guitar & Song Writing Camp
This music camp is designed to give children the opportunity to learn the basics of writing songs and creatively expressing themselves with music!
They learn the basics of guitar playing or develop on their skills with group and individual tuition.
They receive an introduction to song writing, covering the topics of music listening skills, rhythms, basic theory, composition, rhyming and recording skills.
Throughout the week they work on writing a song as a group and then onto recording it. They will all play a part in writing the song, singing, playing instruments and sound checks. By the end of the week they will each have a copy of the CD of the song they wrote, which is something to be very proud of.
As this camp requires lots of different skills it is suitable for both beginners to guitar and children who have taken lessons.
