Royal Irish Academy of Music
Students at Mullingar Music School have the option to enter into music exams and work through their grades if they wish.
All instruments except Guitar are examined by the Royal Irish Academy of Music. These exams are held three times a year, and our local exam centre is usually Mullingar Arts Centre. Students may enter for exams through Mullingar Music School, however, if they have specific dates/times that are inconvenient (such as school exams, holidays, etc) they may apply directly to the Academy, as we cannot change exam dates/times once they have been issued. Forms are available in our office or you can apply online.
Any students with special educational needs (e.g. Dyslexia), need to inform their teacher as a separate form needs to be filled in.
2015/2016 School Policies
All fees must be paid in full on first day of term, no weekly payments will be accepted, this is to secure wages for teachers.
Please ensure email address on registration form is correct as student information, term dates and term invoices will be sent to this address.
Make-up lessons will not be given in the case of student absence unless 24 hours notice is given to re-schedule a lesson.
If a teacher is absent a substitute will be provided where possible. If not, the lesson will be made up on the nearest convenient date.
Students are required to provide their own instrument for study. Teachers will outline weekly lesson assignments to be practiced during the coming week. We encourage shorter practice periods everyday rather than long sessions the day before a lesson.
Students must buy all music/theory books requested by teacher and must bring these to all lessons along with a copy book for notes.

All exam fees must be paid in full when informed by teacher. Please note additional costs of accompanist may apply to some exams. We will provide an accompanist or you may find your own.
